How to Clean Your Microwave with Vinegar

The microwave can become a goldmine for food splatters, spills, strong odors and even bacteria.  So it's important to clean it regularly.

Here's the best way to clean it with vinegar.

Step 1: Start by combining a cup of water and 2-3 tablespoons of white vinegar in a microwave-safe cup of choice.

Step 2: Put the cup in the microwave and let it run for 5 minutes. The vinegar mixture should boil and let off a significant amount of steam.

Step 3: After microwaving, let the cup sit for another 5 minutes before opening the microwave.

Step 4: Use a damp rag or wet paper towel and wipe down the insides of the microwave. Wipe the walls, ceiling, inside of the glass door, and the outside of the microwave.

Step 5:  For a more caked-on mess, use a spray bottle with vinegar and spray the areas that need a little more elbow grease.

Step 6: Clean the microwave turntable separately by wiping it down or washing it just like a regular dirty plate.
