Usually, loving a grocery store product means adding it to the shopping list again and again. But apparently, some Aldi foods are so good that shoppers have decided the safest option is simply leaving them at the store.
That was the funny dilemma shoppers shared when discussing the Aldi foods they love but rarely, if ever, buy because they disappear far too quickly once they get home.
Peanut butter cups
Aldi’s peanut butter cups came up again and again, with multiple shoppers admitting they simply can’t keep them in the house. One person said they didn’t believe all the hype until finally trying them, only to discover they could no longer trust themselves to buy them regularly.
German cream cake
The German cream cakes inspired some impressive confessions, including one shopper who said they ate an entire cake in a week and deliberately didn’t buy another. Another bought two after remembering how popular they had been with company the year before despite not actually having company coming this time.
Cannoli dip
Apparently, bringing Aldi’s cannoli dip home means accepting that it may not be around for very long. One shopper joked that it magically disappears the same day they buy it, while others shared ways they eat it with everything from graham crackers and apples to pretzels and crescent rolls.
Clancy’s kettle chips
A bag of chips is supposed to contain multiple servings, but Aldi shoppers admitted that’s easier said than done with these. Kettle chip fans singled out several flavors, including jalapeño and salt and vinegar, with some saying they can polish off a bag in only a couple of sittings.
Sea salt dark chocolate caramels
Sweet, salty and apparently very difficult to put down, Aldi’s sea salt dark chocolate caramels earned several mentions. One shopper called them a favorite Aldi item but said they simply don’t let themselves buy them anymore.
Maple cookies
Aldi’s maple cookies are another treat some shoppers would rather admire from a distance. One person said they could easily eat an entire box, while others chimed in about how quickly the cookies disappear once they’re brought home.
Cookie butter
Cookie butter sounds innocent enough until the jar is sitting within a spoon’s reach. One shopper said they can’t be trusted around it, while another pointed out that it also makes a dangerously tempting ice cream topping.
Girl Scout-style cookies
Aldi’s versions of popular Girl Scout cookies have developed their own loyal following, particularly the peanut butter and Samoa-style varieties.
Several shoppers admitted they can go through an entire package surprisingly quickly, with one saying they stopped buying the peanut butter version after finding themselves heading to the kitchen for them in the middle of the night.
Specialty Selected ice cream
The Specialty Selected ice cream also earned plenty of praise, particularly the chocolate and vanilla varieties. One shopper limits themselves to only a few cartons a year, while another declared that the current carton would be their last because it was simply too tempting.
S’mores clusters
A bag of s’mores clusters apparently doesn’t stand much of a chance once it’s opened. One shopper said they can inhale an entire bag before realizing what happened, prompting another person to joke that simply learning Aldi sells them was information they probably shouldn’t have.
