With grocery and household expenses taking up more of the monthly budget, a sizable discount on items people already buy can be worth noticing. BJ’s Wholesale Club has launched a new promotion that takes a particularly fitting amount off dozens of products.
The warehouse club is celebrating its 42nd birthday by offering members 42% off select items, including groceries, pantry staples and household essentials. The promotion began September 24 and runs through October 31, 2026, according to an announcement from BJ’s Wholesale Club.
The 42% discount covers more than groceries
This isn’t a discount on everything in the warehouse, but BJ’s says dozens of products are included in its birthday event. The promotion spans groceries, pantry staples, household essentials, health and beauty products, apparel, and other merchandise.
Some of the food items BJ’s highlighted include lean ground beef, Kraft Mac & Cheese, M&M’s jars, Wellsley Farms potatoes and hummus, Chomps meat snack sticks, and fresh apples. BJ’s also features sliced Wellsley Farms oven-baked deli ham and Land O’Lakes deli cheese.
The BJ’s website currently shows birthday deals on products including chicken drumsticks, sweet potatoes, several varieties of apples and potatoes, ground beef and deli products. The selection gives members opportunities to use the promotion on everyday foods rather than limiting the event to seasonal or specialty merchandise.
There are some non-food deals, too
The 42% promotion isn’t limited to filling the refrigerator and pantry. BJ’s announcement also highlights Nautica lightweight puffer vests for men, women, and children, along with a 508 Crew XSpeed Pedal Go-Kart.
That could make the sale worth browsing beyond the grocery aisles, particularly for households already planning to purchase clothing, household necessities, or other eligible products. The important distinction is that the 42% discount applies to select items, not everything sold at BJ’s.
Members have several ways to shop the sale
Members don’t necessarily have to walk into a club to take advantage of the birthday event. BJ’s says eligible deals can be found at local clubs, through its mobile app, and on BJ’s.com.
For existing BJ’s members who already buy some of the included products, however, the birthday promotion could be a chance to stock up on items they would have bought anyway.
With dozens of products included and the broader event scheduled to continue through October 31, there should be plenty of time to check the eligible products rather than buying simply because something has a 42% discount attached.
