I kept seeing The Pink Stuff all over social media, with people calling it a miracle cleaner that could handle just about any mess. After hearing so much about it, I decided to see if it really lived up to the hype.
Instead of trying it on just one surface, I used it all over my house. I tested it in the kitchen, bathroom, and on a few cleaning jobs I’d been putting off for months. Some results impressed me right away, while others were good but not quite as dramatic as I expected.
Here’s where I thought The Pink Stuff worked best and where I probably wouldn’t reach for it first.
What Is The Pink Stuff?
If you’ve never used it before, The Pink Stuff is a thick cleaning paste with a mild abrasive texture. That slight grit helps scrub away grease, stains, and built-up grime without being overly harsh on many household surfaces if it’s used properly.
The formula contains mostly natural ingredients, which is one reason it’s become so popular. Instead of relying on strong chemical odors, it uses fine mineral particles to do much of the cleaning.
After trying it in several parts of my home, I’d say it’s a solid cleaner. It isn’t a miracle product, but there are certain jobs where it really stands out.
Oven Grease and Baked-On Messes
The oven was my first test because it had plenty of baked-on grease that had been there far too long.
I spread a small amount of The Pink Stuff over the oven door and the racks, let it sit for a minute or two, then scrubbed with a sponge.
It didn’t erase years of buildup in one pass, but it loosened the grime enough that cleanup took much less effort. I still had to scrub, though nowhere near as much as I expected.
White Sneakers
My white sneakers had dirty rubber soles and plenty of scuff marks, so they seemed like a good test.
Using a damp cloth and a little paste, I gently cleaned the rubber trim. The dirt came off quickly, and most of the black marks disappeared.
I wouldn’t use it on delicate fabrics, but it worked really well on the rubber parts.
Greasy Kitchen Cabinets
The cabinets next to my stove always seem to collect a sticky layer of grease that regular cleaners don’t completely remove.
I applied a little paste to a damp cloth and wiped down the cabinet doors.
The grease came off much easier than I expected, and the cabinets looked noticeably cleaner without leaving behind an oily residue.
Grout Between Tiles
Cleaning grout is one of those chores I usually avoid because it takes so much scrubbing.
I worked the paste into the grout lines with an old toothbrush, let it sit briefly, then wiped everything clean.
The grout wasn’t restored to its original color, but it looked much brighter and cleaner than before.
Rust Spots
I found a few light rust spots on some tools and outdoor hardware and decided to see what would happen.
The Pink Stuff removed surface rust fairly well after some scrubbing.
Heavier rust stains were a different story. It helped, but they didn’t disappear completely.
Scuff Marks on Floors
Some stubborn scuff marks had been sitting on my vinyl flooring for weeks, surviving every regular mopping.
Using a soft cloth and a small amount of paste, I gently rubbed the marks until they lifted away.
It worked quickly on most of them. I’d still test a hidden spot first since every floor finish is different.
Sink and Drain Area
The area around my kitchen sink had water spots and dull buildup that regular wiping never seemed to remove.
After cleaning around the drain, I rubbed in a little paste and wiped it away.
The stainless steel looked brighter, and the cloudy residue was gone.
Shower Glass Doors
Soap scum had started making my shower doors look cloudy.
I spread a thin layer of The Pink Stuff with a sponge, scrubbed lightly, then rinsed everything off.
The glass looked much clearer afterward, and a lot of the water spots disappeared.
Burnt Pots and Pans
One saucepan had burnt food stuck to the bottom that had survived several washes.
I covered the scorched area with the paste, let it sit briefly, and scrubbed with a non-scratch sponge.
It still took some elbow grease, but much of the burnt residue came off, and the pan looked far better than when I started.
Baseboards
My baseboards had collected plenty of scuff marks from shoes, furniture, and everyday traffic.
Using a damp cloth and a small amount of paste, I gently rubbed the marks.
Most of them came off without much effort, making the baseboards look freshly cleaned again.
Barbecue Grill
The grill grates had layers of grease and burnt-on food from several cookouts.
After applying The Pink Stuff and scrubbing with a grill brush, much of the buildup loosened.
It wasn’t completely spotless, but it was much cleaner and ready for the next barbecue.
Limescale
My final test was limescale around the bathroom faucet and inside a kettle.
The paste helped loosen the white mineral deposits after a little scrubbing, leaving both looking much cleaner.
For heavy buildup, I still think vinegar works better, but The Pink Stuff did a respectable job cleaning lighter deposits.
