Harvest season is upon us. It’s one of my favorite time of year. From the changing colors of leaves, cooler sweater weather, plaid blankets, and pumpkin everything, there’s so much to love about the fall season. Having said that, it is the perfect time to spruce up that front porch and welcome friends into your home. And there’s nothing more welcoming than a well-decorated front porch. Whether you need farmhouse fall decor or front porch decor, here are some budget-friendly, rustic, primitive fall decor ideas to get you started.
Pumpkins
Nothing screams fall more than Pumpkins. It is the beloved symbol of autumn and uber-popular for fall decorations, especially for Halloween. Everything is about pumpkins – pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, pumpkin latte – you get my point. Pumpkins also make excellent fall decor for your front porch. I purchased my pumpkins from Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree offers giant pumpkins, mini pumpkins, Orange, Red, and even White pumpkins. Because of this, they call themselves the pumpkin headquarters because they have an assortment of faux and artificial pumpkins to fit your outdoor spaces or living room. So stack up your shopping cart with lots of pumpkins to add to your front porch. If you prefer real pumpkins, then your local supermarket will have them fresh in stock. I personally like a mix of real and artificial pumpkins.
All Things Floral
Seasonal Florals is a must. Florals are great for adding warmth and color to your space. Fall colors tend to be rich with bold hues – from yellow, orange, red, and brown. So, Mix up your florals and your colors to make the perfect combination of florals. If you prefer not to use real florals, then try faux florals – this is a great way to get a more low-maintenance look. Hobby Lobby has a fantastic selection of these Fall Decor items. There’s something for everyone.
Lantern
Lanterns make beautiful fall home decor. They also make excellent fall porch decor. You can add a candle to your lantern for your evening ambiance or fill it with pumpkins, nuts, or leaves. I DIYed my lantern using gold picture frames and glue from Dollar Tree. It was super easy and cost-effective to make. Once the fall is over, you can always repurpose these lanterns for your Christmas decor.Â
Galvanized Metal Bucket or Vase
Galvanized Metal Bucket or Vase is great for featuring your favorite fall hues and decor. This primitive decor gives off a rustic, urban vibe. You can simply fill the bucket with leaves and pumpkins or decorate it with your favorite seasonal plant or flowers.
Fall Wreaths
Your front door deserves some love. So add the finishing touch to your front porch by hanging handmade pieces of wreath to the front door using dried fall flowers. You can also grab a pre-made wreath from Kirkland’s or DIY your own leafy wreaths with Dollar Tree’s floral arts and crafts supplies. At the same time, you can also add corn stalks to both sides of the front door to create a more grand entrance.Â
Decorate an Old Chair
You can give life to a piece of old furniture by adding it to the front porch and decorating it with fall flowers and other decorations. You can string some garland around it to add pops of color.Â
