Make your own wreath bells with this simple and budget-friendly DIY project using Dollar Tree supplies!
I love a good dollar tree craft – especially given how cheap it is to create. With a few plastic cups, some nautical rope, and a little ribbon, you can create cute bells to add to your holiday décor. They’re easy to make and a fun way to personalize your decorations. Follow these easy steps, and you’ll have your own handmade wreath bells.
Supplies:
- Large Plastic cups (Dollar Tree)
- 3 Dollar Tree Nautical Rope
- Hot Glue Gun and glue sticks
- Red satin ribbon
- Silver Bells
- Boxwood
Instructions:
Step 1
Apply a line of hot glue along the top rim of the plastic cup and press the nautical rope firmly into place. Continue gluing and wrapping the rope around the cup until you reach the bottom. If you run out of rope, simply start a new piece where the previous one ended.
Step 2
Once you reach the flat bottom of the cup (you can flip the cup upside down to make this step easier), apply hot glue to the surface and continue wrapping the rope in a spiral pattern, pressing it firmly into place. Leave about 12 inches of rope at the end to create a hanging loop.
Step 3
Repeat the process for the second cup to create the second bell. You can make a third bell if desired.
Step 4
Cut two pieces of ribbon, each about 6 inches long, and tie them into simple bows. Attach the bows to the top of each bell using a small dab of hot glue.
Step 5
Pull off small pieces of boxwood (or any greenery) and attach them just below the bows with hot glue. If the boxwood pieces are easy to remove, you won’t need wire cutters.
Step 6
Finally, tie the ends of the nautical rope into a simple knot to create a loop for hanging.
And that’s it.
