Costco gets a lot of attention for good reason. It is one of the first places people think of when they want to stock up on groceries, paper products, household basics, and other everyday items in larger quantities. For many shoppers, it is the go-to store for buying in bulk and stretching a budget a little further.

But Costco is not the only place worth checking. Depending on where you live, how much storage space you have, and whether you want to pay for a membership, other stores can be just as useful for bulk shopping. Some offer similar warehouse-style savings, while others make it easier to stock up without committing to giant package sizes or annual fees.

If you like the idea of buying more at once and paying less over time, it is worth noting that Costco isn’t the only option. These stores have bulk deals just as good as Costco, and in some cases, they may even be a better fit for the way you shop.

1. BJ’s Wholesale Club

BJ’s is probably one of the closest alternatives to Costco, especially for shoppers on the East Coast. It carries the same general mix of bulk groceries, household goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries, pet items, and seasonal products, as well as larger purchases such as furniture, electronics, and appliances.

One thing some shoppers like about BJ’s is that it often feels a little easier to navigate than Costco. It also tends to offer in-store coupons and additional deals that can make certain bulk purchases even more appealing.

2. Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club is another warehouse store that makes a lot of sense for anyone looking for Costco-style shopping. It has a similar setup, with large quantities of food, pantry staples, paper goods, drinks, frozen foods, snacks, and household items, plus plenty of non-grocery categories.

For some shoppers, Sam’s Club feels a little more flexible because it often carries both bulk and more standard sizes in certain categories. That can be helpful if you want the savings of a warehouse club without always having to buy the largest package.

3. Walmart

Walmart is not a warehouse club, but it can still be a strong option for bulk shopping. Many stores carry larger package sizes of pantry staples, cleaning products, toiletries, paper goods, pet food, and baby supplies, making it easier to stock up without a membership.

Amazon has become a bulk-buy option for many people who would rather skip the warehouse store altogether. You can find larger sizes of pantry goods, toiletries, paper products, pet supplies, supplements, and cleaning items without ever leaving home.

That convenience is a big part of the appeal. For shoppers who want to compare brands, read reviews, and have bulk items delivered to the door, Amazon can be an easy replacement for a Costco run.

6. Dollar Stores

Dollar stores are not traditional bulk stores, but they can still work surprisingly well for stocking up on certain basics. If a store carries low-priced cleaning supplies, paper goods, snacks, party items, or pantry products, buying several at once can still help you build up a household supply for less.

This works especially well for items that do not need to be fancy. Things like gift wrap, greeting cards, storage bags, and simple cleaning products can often be bought cheaply enough that the total still feels like a good bulk deal.

7. Aldi

Aldi is a great option for shoppers who want low prices without the oversized warehouse setup. While it is not a bulk store in the classic sense, it does make it easier to stock up on pantry basics, canned goods, baking supplies, snacks, and household staples at lower prices than many traditional grocery stores.

For people who do not have the room for giant boxes and bulk-sized containers, Aldi can feel like a more practical middle ground. You still save money, but you are not forced into buying more than your household can realistically use.
