Sometimes, you just need a dependable fire starter. Something that will light quickly and keep burning long enough to get your fire going. Store-bought ones work fine, but making your own is easy and satisfying, and you can control exactly what goes into it. Last year, I built a fire pit in my backyard, and since then, I’ve been coming up with different ways to use it, from cooking outdoors to simply enjoying an evening fire.
One of the things I’ve found most helpful is having a ready supply of homemade fire starters on hand. They work well in a fire pit, campfire, or wood stove, and they’re simple to put together with everyday materials. I’ll show you exactly how I made mine from scratch, so you can try it yourself and see how well it works.
