I love making paper crafts with my kids. They seem to enjoy it very much. Creating paper flowers is a fun way to bond with kids while nurturing their creativity. These cheerful paper blooms can brighten up any space, from living rooms to children’s bedrooms, or even be used as festive decorations for parties and celebrations.
The project introduces children to basic crafting techniques, such as cutting precise shapes, folding for structure, and gluing for assembly, all of which help refine their fine motor skills.
I’ll walk you through the steps to make these simple paper flowers with your kids.
Supplies
- colored craft papers
- glue
- scissor
- pencil
- green straws
- stapler
Instructions
Step 1
Cut 12 strips of colored cardstock, each 8 centimeters long, for the petals.
Step 2
Cut 4 of those strips in half to make the inner part of the petals.
Step 3
Take one long strip and one short strip, fold them inside each other to form a petal, and staple their ends together. Then Start stapling the petals together laterally.
Step 4
Flatten the tip of the straw. Then, insert the flattened part of the straw before placing the last staple and staple the petals.
Step 5
Cut a circle with a diameter of 3 or 4 centimeters for the center of the flower and glue it on.
And that’s it.
